Mayor Klitschko: 5 Kyiv Residents Killed, 32 Injured, and 10 Hospitalized Following Overnight Massive Attack

As a result of the overnight massive attack, residential buildings, medical facilities, and non-residential premises were damaged in several districts of the capital. In the Desnianskyi district, 5 people were killed, and others may still be trapped under the rubble. 32 Kyiv residents were injured, and 10 were hospitalized. Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko reported this after visiting a damaged apartment building in the Desnianskyi district. Klitschko also published videos from the sites of the strikes on his Telegram channel.

“In many districts of the capital, residential buildings were damaged as a result of the massive attack. In several areas, medical facilities and non-residential buildings were also affected. Debris caught fire on the grounds of one educational institution,” the Mayor of Kyiv said. “In the building in the Desnianskyi district, rescuers are still extinguishing the fire and clearing the debris. According to confirmed information from medics, 5 people were killed here. However, there may still be people trapped under the rubble. The search operation continues. 32 city residents were injured, including 2 children aged 7 and 10. 10 people, including a pregnant woman, were hospitalized,” Klitschko added.

He also reported that emergency assistance centers have been set up in the Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Obolonskyi, Podilskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts to help those affected.

The Mayor urged Kyiv residents to keep supplies of food, drinking water, and warm clothing at home in case of emergencies.

Klitschko also informed that, according to energy providers, scheduled power outage timetables are currently in effect in the capital. Local emergency outages caused by the attack have been repaired.

Heating disruptions have been recorded in the Desnianskyi district and part of the Podilskyi district. Municipal services are working to restore the heating.

No interruptions in the water supply have been reported.
