“During the Investment Forum, I met with Harry Boyd-Carpenter, Managing Director of the EBRD’s Sustainable Infrastructure Group, and Denys Haiovyi, Associate Director and Senior Banker of the same group. We discussed further cooperation, the implementation of ongoing projects, and the launch of new ones,” said the Mayor of the Ukrainian capital. “In particular, with the support of the EBRD, we are modernizing Kyiv’s transport infrastructure and improving energy efficiency. We are currently implementing an investment project to modernize the city’s district heating system,” Klitschko noted.

He added that Kyiv and the EBRD are actively negotiating the implementation of the “Kyiv Metro” project aimed at improving the capital’s public transport infrastructure. The project involves the purchase of new metro cars, with funding of up to 150 million euros. It is planned to be implemented in 2026.

“I stressed during all meetings in Berlin that this winter we are in urgent need of assistance with generators and other autonomous power supply equipment,” Klitschko said.

During his meeting with Annette Kroeber-Riel, Google’s Vice President for Government Affairs and Public Policy in Europe, the Mayor of Kyiv discussed joint investment initiatives.

“In addition to the discussions at the Forum, we also met at Google’s Berlin office. In particular, Kyiv is interested in innovative tools developed by the company’s specialists to implement accessibility principles in service delivery and in new communication technologies. We also discussed integrating Kyiv’s accessibility data into Google Maps. The “Kyiv Digital” platform will serve as the basis for such data,” Klitschko emphasized.
