The mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko revealed that the enemy forces are moving closer to the outskirts of the capital. “Dear friends, dear Kyivans! The enemy is closing in on the capital. At nighttime they were shelling Bila Tserkva, there were street fights in Bucha and Hostomel. We are being prepared to defend Kyiv! I urge Kyivans not to lose self-control and trust only official sources of information. The enemy spreads disinformation and rumours to make Ukrainians weaker. Kyiv hold on and will withstand! We will fight!” highlighted Klitschko.

He told that five civilians passing by the television tower were killed in Kyiv as a Tv tower was hit by two missiles. “I urge all Kyivans to stay away from streets, to go to bomb shelters during air raids and respect the curfew which remains in place from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. Also, fortifications and checkpoints are being set up at the city entries,” he said.

Klitschko informed that the city’s key infrastructure keeps operating. The public transport and the metro in Kyiv reduced service and carry only key workers. I am proud to see that Kharkiv, Mariupol, Kherson and many other cities and villages of Ukraine hold on despite the enemy tanks and fire. You are heroes, keep holding on. Our strength lies in the fighting spirit and self-sacrifice of our army, police and other law enforcers, members of the Territorial Defence Forces and all Ukrainians. Nobody can break our strength. Together we will withstand! Glory to Ukraine!” announced Klitschko.
