Klitschko: the situation is dangerous. We are reinforcing the city defence. Сheckpoints and roadblocks being set up in the streets

As Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko revealed in a video, the ongoing situation in Kyiv is dangerous. The municipality is stepping up the city defence. Fortifications and checkpoints are being set up at the city entries.
“As the enemy is approaching the situation in Kyiv becomes more dangerous. Our combatants, the Territorial Defence units heroically fight for our land. We are reinforcing our defence. Fortifications and checkpoints are being set up at the city entries. And I urge everyone to stay calm. Please, don’t go outside unless you hear an air raid siren,” he addressed Kyivans.
Klitschko informed that the city’s key infrastructure keeps operating. The public transport and the metro in Kyiv reduced service and carry only key workers until 7 p.m. A curfew remains in place starting at 8 p.m. until 8 a.m. the next morning. The movement of individuals is allowed provided they have a special military authorisation issued by the Kyiv Military Commander.
“The enemy is approaching to the heart of our country. But we will fight and will not let them occupy Kyiv. The army, the Territorial Defence Forces and concerned residents are ready for the battle,” announced the mayor of Kyiv. “I want to support the residents of Vorzel, Bucha, Irpen, Vasilkov and Gostomel for their resilience where enemies are raging, killing the civilians and destroying everything they can. I want to thank our defenders who heroically fight back the horde’s attacks on Kyiv,” pointed out Klitschko. “Dear Kyivans, Ukrainians! There is plenty of disinformation on the war, please don’t trust fake news and don’t panic. We have to defend our city, our country and our future which only patriots and true warriors will determine. We will withstand together! Glory to Kyiv! Glory to Ukraine!”
