The charitable organization Life Bridge Ukraine led by Janine von Wolfersdorff delivered and handed over 6,000 gas stoves, 30,000 gas canisters for them, and 7,040 heaters to Kyiv. These items will be distributed to elderly people living alone whose apartment stoves operate on electricity. The charity raised €140,000 in Germany to provide this assistance. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced this on his Telegram channel.
“Today, Kyiv received a shipment of humanitarian aid from our German friends and partners. The charitable organization Life Bridge Ukraine led by Janine von Wolfersdorff handed over 6,000 gas stoves, 30,000 gas canisters, and 7,040 heaters to Kyiv. This weekend, through the city’s territorial social assistance centers, they will be distributed to elderly people living alone whose apartment stoves depend on electricity (in buildings where there are currently problems with heat and energy supply),” the Mayor of Kyiv wrote. “These items, which are critically needed by Kyiv residents today, were purchased with charitable funds raised by Life Bridge Ukraine. Within one week, the organization raised €140,000 in Germany. The first €30,000 was donated by the Association of Berlin Merchants (Verein Berliner Kaufleute). Many private benefactors from Berlin and across Germany also joined the effort,” Klitschko reported.
He thanked Janine von Wolfersdorff and the charitable organization Life Bridge Ukraine for their assistance to Kyiv residents.
The Mayor also reminded that Life Bridge Ukraine, with the support of the Berlin city authorities, helped to establish the “Human Titans” prosthetics center in the Ukrainian capital. The center provides assistance to wounded soldiers and civilians and was opened last year at one of the city hospitals.
To equip the center and manufacture prosthetics, Life Bridge Ukraine purchased and delivered equipment from a leading German manufacturer worth UAH 14.5 million.
