The pedestrian and cycle bridge that strings together the Volodymyrska Hirka Park and the Friendship of Nations Monument is now one of the most popular public destinations and a part of the major tourist route linking Peyzazhna Alley and Kyiv-Pecherska Lavra.
The project was originally conceived over 100 years ago, but the actual construction work began in 2018 and took five months. The bridge was unveiled to mark Kyiv City Day 2019.
The 210-metre-long bridge, made of glass and concrete, has a curved shape and four pillars. A square meter of glass floor can carry 1,150 kilogrammes of weight.
