Klitschko: the democratic and European future of Ukraine under threat

“The Constitutional Court attempts to deprive the NAPC of its power to monitor the lifestyle of the public officials for any marks of corruption, in particular permitting to conceal their electronic asset declarations. This ruling jeopardises the democratic and European future of Ukraine because, in fact, it destroys all anti-corruption instruments which Ukraine has been successfully developing over few last years and which are a signpost of our commitment to the European Council toward the anti-graft legislation,” commented Klitschko.
“We absolutely must not undo the reforms, especially in the fight against corruption. Such a step leads to outrage and distrust of the Ukrainian people as well as causes a great concern of our international partners. Ukrainians who elect the public officials have the right to know about their earnings. This is one of the cornerstones of democracy,” emphasized Vitali Klitschko.
