On October 9 Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko together with the mayor of Leipzig Burkhard Jung will kick off the Days of Kyiv in Leipzig. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the sister city partnership between both cities. On October 9 the official opening of Days of Kyiv in Leipzig will take place followed by the launch of the Days of Leipzig in Kyiv in late May 2022.
The celebration starts with the opening ceremony for the “KyivScape: Democracy and Freedom” Photo Exhibition. Also, celebrating the 1989 Peaceful Revolution in Germany Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko will deliver a keynote speech on the topic of Democracy.
While in Leipzig Klitschko will meet the Minister President of Saxony Michael Kretschmer, the Special Envoy of the German Government for the Decentralization Reform, ex-Minister President of Saxony Georg Milbradt, businessmen and cultural agents.
