26.03.2020

“Let me say one thing. The ordinance has been issued in accordance with ‘for internal use’ decrees by Ukraine’s Health Ministry, the State Guard Department and President’s Management of Affairs Office. It says, the rooms in Kyiv’s hospitals should be prepared and ready to provide mеdісаl саrе to state officials, entitled to services of state security guards,” said Klitschko.

He noted that it is about practice when top officials if get infected are entitled to the living and treatment conditions according to their position, meaning separate hospital rooms and constant supervision of state bodyguards.

“Actually, this is a common practice, quite widely spread. However… Yesterday I talked to President Zelenskiy. He said, he is ready and intends to withdraw the mentioned orders with which the city has to comply. Hopefully, it will be done. We will appreciate!” emphasized Kyiv mayor.

He also commented rumours about Oleksandrivska hospital which is allegedly a hospital for VIP patients. According to Mayor, this clinic is a core hospital which admits all patients despite their status, suspicious of or infected with the virus. If the number of cases grows, other Kyiv’s hospitals, set as dedicated coronavirus clinics, will admit and treat such patients. There are seven of them, including Oleksandrivska facility, and the list of them is publicly available.

“Today I have inspected Oleksandrivska hospital and even took some video,” said Vitali Klitschko, promising to release it.
