Klitschko: Kyiv City Hall illuminated in solidarity with Italy,

“Friends, Kyiv sends a message of support to Italy. As many of you noticed, flags of Ukraine and Italy were put up on Khreschatyk. Starting tonight for three nights – Friday to Sunday – the building of the city hall will be lit up to the colours of the Italian flag to show solidarity in our common fight against the global pandemic,” wrote Klitschko.

He emphasized that the situation in Italy is devastating, but the medical staff and emergency services show true courage and devotion to their professional duty.

“This is a gesture of our support to Italy and the Italian people! Resisti, Italia!” he said.

Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine Davide La Cecilia underlined the importance of strengthening cooperation between Italy and Ukraine and further networking in preventing the spread of the coronavirus. He remarked that Italy is at the forefront of the emergency today and shares its experience with other countries, including Ukraine.

“The city of Kyiv and the Italian Embassy are joining efforts to display solidarity of Ukraine and Italy in taking lockdown measures to combat the pandemic. The City Hall facade shining in the Italian colours sends a signal of solidarity which is most wanted now. During this unprecedented crisis, Italy works non-stop, with all its bravery and commitment. Together we will cope!” stated Ambassador La Cecilia.
